In Omaha, we are blessed with an abundance of outstanding teachers. The Alice Buffett Outstanding Teacher Award was designed to recognize these individuals. Each helps make the Omaha Public School District one of the best places to learn in the nation.
If you know an Omaha Public School teacher who belongs on this list, please let us know. Fifteen winning teachers will receive the public recognition they so richly deserve and a $10,000 gift.
To be considered, the nominee must be a certified Omaha Public School District teacher or counselor with at least two years’ experience. If you are a teacher you cannot nominate yourself. Otherwise, anyone and everyone can make a nomination – students, parents, teachers, former students – you.
All you need to do is write a letter that describes your nominee. Tell us about the attributes and actions that make him or her special. Include specific examples. And don’t worry about grammar and spelling – these letters won’t be graded. The information you provide is the deciding factor in selecting the winners.
Nominations must be received no later than January 31, 2008. Go to www.stbfoundation.org or mail them to
